I was considering buying a new Samsung dvd player, but I guess it would be smart to wait for the 1080's to come out. I have a Samsung 5078 dlp on order. Thanks for any info.

Two more quick questions. Will all dvd's and dvd players be 1080p eventually? Should I hold off on buying a dvd player until the 1080p players are out? I currently have a Samsung HD 841 player. Thanks!!

Are you talking about true HDTV DVD players? These won't be out till later this year (HD-DVD) or next year (BlueRay). All DVD players today only scale to HDTV resolutions (1080i for example) and are not true HDTV.

Also, expect these players to be 1080p 24sf as opposed to 1080p 60.

The NeuNeo does 1080p output via component/dvi/or hdmi.

Of course I can't get it to work on my display though, but nice to know it's there for me.

I really think the original poster is talking about true HDTV players and DVD's - see his second post above.

I believe all players referenced here that do 1080p are just upconverting players for standard def. DVD's.

Will this TV accept 1080p? I don't stay up-to-date on these RPTVs, but last I saw the "wobbulators" would not accept 1080p.

I just read another thread where they won't accept 480i via HDMI. Wow, does THAT suck.

Aren't the first generation Toshiba HD-DVDs limited to 720/60p and 1080/60i output only? Or are you suggesting that 1080 24sf will be carried somehow in 1080/60i (rather than 1080/48i)?

I think many were hopeful that 1080/24p outputs (either segmented frame or full frame) were likely - but it seems these will have to wait for future players?

Dunno, but you may want to check over in the HDTV Recorder and Player forum.
