Excellent question. Hopefully after ESPN ramps up with HD trucks and cameras ABC will follow.
When will ABC begin NBA/NHL in HD?
Any updates on this? Now that they have trucks available, why aren't weekend NBA games in HD yet?

Well, those two can share resources since they're both owned by the same company, but I'm betting ESPN keeps most of the HD equipment most of the time since they're a premium service. ABC had a truck for MNF and had access to multiple trucks for NFL playoff coverage and the Sugar Bowl, but other than the really high-profile events, ABC hasn't done many regular sporting events in HD.
