I called Dish and they wouldn't offer me (an existing customer) any kind of deal or promotion on the 811 or the upcoming 921. Where can I go (online or otherwise) to strike a good deal on the 811? And by "good deal", I'm shooting for $ 200 or less. Please offer as much as help as possible without breaking any of the forum rules regarding pricing, etc. Thanks.

HH Gregg can sell them for about $100 off MSRP. That is the best I have found so far but it looks like you may not be in one of their areas. You won't find one for less, that is just above cost.

I got mine for $199 from a local dealer within a week of their availability.

Don't know if that deal is still on or not.

Call Dish again, someone is blowing smoke out their A$$. Existing subs can get one for $149 or $199 depending on who you talk to but you have to sub to the AT100 for a year. I heard this deal ended the end of January so you better call quick. Keep calling back till you get someone who knows.

I called to cancel, stating that Comcast would be coming by to set up HD for me. I was transferred to a cancellation specialist, who, after some negotiating offered me an 811 for $99.00 with a 12 month commitment. I took it, but later canceled the order since I don't want another commitment to Dish and OTA HD is working great for me with my HTPC, I also want to see what Comcast's PVR will be like, but if you're willing to take it on you may be able to get the deal.

I used this email to get a good response from dishnetwork exec offices. I used it from another thread and was skeptical, but it was the real deal. Used my yahoo email address just in case....

Anyway, I was called back within 24 hours by Chuck(no, not Ergen) at the exec offices, and he offered me the $149 deal with a 1 year commitment. Very courteous, attentive.

Unfortunately, I cancelled the install after the local guys dropped the ball and tried to reschedule. Only thing I wanted HD in the near future for was the Superbowl, and when they couldn't deliver by that date, I cancelled.

Anyway, here tis': [email protected]

Oh, and sorry I can't credit the guy who originally posted the email, I can't remember what thread it was in. Its definately the real deal (unless dish turned it off.)

Good Luck.
