I'm redoing my home theater and just painted the ceiling black. I want to avoid trying to paint the old white register but I can't find black ones anywhere. I tried google, amazon, ebay, etc. Any ideas?

I spray paint them with flat black ALL THE TIME
I second this comment.  Prime them, then paint them flat black.  You're never going to be up there adjusting them, so just paint them and install them and be done with it.  Mine aren't noticeable and it took me 5 minutes of time and about $5 bucks.

Also, don't forget to paint the screw heads to match, otherwise you'll have two white dots. :)

Thanks guys, I suspected these answers so off to Home Depot I go to buy some spray paint. Still, I'm surprised they don't make black registers like they make black electrical plates.

Do you need to prime them if they're brand new? Can't I just wipe them down with mineral spirits let them dry them spray away?
