Where can I get a Grayhawk in Europe?

530 Views 11 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  m Robinson
Hello

Where I live there aren't any HT dealers at all. Where and how can I get a hold of a Grayhawk? Are there any stores in the U.S. that ship to Europe? Or any stores in the Europe for that matter? Damn, it shouldn't be so hard to get a screen :\\

Dear Idealcrash,

Stewart has its own regional facility in Copenhagen, Denmark. It's role is to support, sales and service, all of Europe and the U.K.

You can email Mr. Hoger Jensen, director of European operations at: [email protected]

I am sure he can answer all your questions.

Regards,

Don

Correct email-address to Stewart Europe is

[email protected]

I guess this shows how much Stewart respects its European customers.. outrageous price differences and they don't even know what is their European office's contact information ([email protected] which is on Stewart's website and which is wrong) or their contact person's email-addresses ([email protected] which is wrong...)
There have been several threads laced with speculative content, regarding availability, pricing and distribution for Stewart products. Stewart Filmscreen is committed to serving the international marketplace. Our international distribution partners participate in the management of Stewart Filmscreen, and we rely upon them to offer technical expertise and service on a par with the service expected by U.S. customers. There are substantial challenges to work with in the export market. Stewart Filmscreen practices a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of our business, from R&D through production and distribution. We appreciate your support, frustration, and enthusiasm. If you do not complain, it takes us longer to improve. All criticisms are welcome.

That said, here are some specific answers. In Europe, Mr. Holger Jensen stands at the ready to match any potential customer with legitimate re-sellers of Stewart Filmscreen products. His E-mail address, confirmed this morning 8:00 A.M. pst. for my own sanity is: [email protected] . When it comes to pricing, yes there is a difference, for the following reasons: When products leave the U.S. for overseas destinations there are import duties and freight costs. A very rough estimate would be that the combination of these costs will hover at about 8% of the retail cost of the product. Persons doing graymarket transactions cannot legitimately escape these costs. SO when the ultimate reseller sets their price, (Stewart does not, and cannot legally, influence or dictate this price), the dealer discount computation will start from a point a little higher than U. S. list price, to recognize the duty and frieght-in costs. The next issue is transportation from the distribution point to the installation site. We have Distribution points in several countries in Europe. There are costs for forwarding bulky freight to the end use site.

The situation in Asia, Australia and other regions of the globe is similar. We are fairly certain that most companies face similar circumstances. We have plans to manufacture products outside the U.S. at points in the future.

As always we stand behind our products 100%. As the world economy evolves and methods of distribution and product access change, through the internet etcetera, Stewart Filmscreen will learn, adapt and change as well. Thank you for your patience and support.
