I am in the market for a transcoder (Key Digital KD-CTCA2). My question: where do you keep it...on the rack system?...near the projector?...somewhere else?

I guess it really comes down to a matter of cable cost and effectiveness. Which cable will pass the signal better on a longer run...a component cable or a VGA-BNC cable?

Thanks,

John

I have my line doubler in my closet/rack controlled with and IR repating system.

These things are just another component so keep it with your AV grear.

If you only have one feed to your projector though, you will have to keep it ner the PJ and run RGB feeds to the projector.

I would use an RGBHV cable. The R G B runs are usually thicker then that in a VGA (monitor) type wire.

I do make my own RGBHV cables though using RG59 or RG6 depending on what s in the ceiling and how long the runs are...........59 is usually whats in the factory made stuff with the fat jacket.
