Good day gentlemen (and ladies).

Well i've finally received my blu ray player for a marquee 8110 last week. I'm looking far a 35' bnc to bnc cable to connect to my moome external box. Wher can i order or pick up a good quality/inexpensive set of cables, I can't seem to find a bnc to bnc of this length anywhere.

Secondly the projector from what i understand will only do 720p or

1080i, will i notice a difference between a BR 720p and a scaler 720P?

Any info on the cables would be great

I can custom make BNC cables for you if you want. I've got all the good cable and connectors. Not too many places make up cables in Canada from what I've found. That's why I bought all the right crimpers.

That set will display and lock to 1080p no problem. There will be a HUGE difference between a BR 720p signal and a regular DVD scaled to 720p. You can also run 1080p, but I'll bet you won't see a difference between 1080p and 720p.

Shoot me an email through the site below for the cable.Otehrwise you can also order online from avs I'd think or places like www.bluejeancables.com . THey are all US based though.

If you don't mind the stiffness, you can buy raw RG-6 or (RG-59 if you want something more flexible) and instead of putting F connectors (aka cable / sat) ends on them you can put BNC connectors that fit directly on the cable vs an F connector to BNC adapter. I believe Sayal Electronics (many locations in the GTA) sells these raw BNC connectors. They also sell the RG6 dirt cheap. I'd say you can make up your set of five 35' cables with ends for less than $50

No you can't, and do a decent job of it.

You will only get crappy push and crimp crap connectors for a decent price, if you want decent quality cables, you pretty much have to use compression connectors, and good ones at that. The connectors alone are $2. EACH if you can find them cheap, if you pay "retail" they are more like $5. each. Plus shipping and taxes on either of those.

If you want to install them properly, you need a specialized tool, it is $30. plus shipping from ebay, or you can buy it from a local electronics specialty seller for $125.

Now the cable, you will need 5x35=175 feet of cable. If you buy exactly that amount, you'll pay the same price per foot as if you buy 50 feet(cause you're buying less than a roll either way), which will be a LOT more than if you buy 500 feet, or even better 1000 feet, but if you choose decent quality Belden cable, 500 feet will run you about $200. and 1000 will run you about $300. or so(if I remember correctly...it's been a long time since I built cables..).

So saying you can build good cables for "about $50." is not realistic.

If you want decent quality, CHEAP cables, try www.monoprice.com or better yet, search ebay for Extron 5BNC to 5BNC cables, I've been lucky and bought several, usually for $20. or less for cables that retail for $200. or more.

Making cables is fun, and rewarding, but its definitely not cheap...

I believe the original poster wanted "good quality / inexpensive cables". The definition of good quality and inexpensive is very subjective. For the record, I used Belden 1694a cabling with Canare BNCs (there are in storage now), home made cables (given to another local CRTer) using the method I described above and now use a long DB15 to BNC cabling from DVDO. When hooked up in the past, I honestly can't recall a difference between my home made cables and the Belden 1694a / Canare cables. I am sure if I put a scope to both sets of cables the Belden / Canare will measure better but visually in my setup, I couldn't tell the difference given the bandwidth I am running (720p @ 72 Hz)
