Where can I buy the Panasonic XR55, XR57 or XR59 receivers? I understand that Panasonic will not be producing newer receivers and have found these hard to find.

I'm willing to buy in store or online, in Canada or in the U.S.

Thanks for any leads.

Sources, please.

The latest statement from Panasonic I have found anywhere on the Internet concerning future Panasonic A/V receivers is dated 09-17-08, and indicates possible new models: http://mobile.twice.com/article/2416...hp?rssid=20318

Of course, reality is Panasonic is diddlysquat in the A/V receiver department at this time. Hey, Panasonic, time to talk to the public and say something!

Well those three are all long out of production, as far as I know. The SA-BX500 is the current model. It has been available online in recent memory from major Panasonic dealers, such as J&R, 6Ave (I think), Amazon, and others, but it is indeed harder to find now as it hasn't been a heavy mover in sales. As far as brick-and-mortars go, I found mine at Frys.

Thanks for alerting me to the "new" BX500.

But even though it's under 2 years old, I cannot find it anywhere.

If it wasn't a good mover, someone should be clearing it out, no?

Here are stores which don't carry it: JR, 6 Ave, Amazon.

Thanks if you can tell me where it can be found.

MCode, thanks for the warning.

I currently have a XR45 coupled with Behringer CX2496 biamping my Newform Research ribbon speakers, which make up my office stereo system. Since it's my second/third system, I don't need it to be top-fi. So far I appreciated the Panasonic's digital amplification at a VERY reasonable price. Of course, I would have loved to buy Tact instead, but it doesn't make any financial sense for my office system which mostly plays background music.

Since the XR45 is getting old, I was wondering if there are sonic improvements to be had with Panasonic's latest digital receiver. I'm also checking Bryston Powerpac 120s as an alternative.

I'd appreciate any advice you can offer given this information.
