I've had good success purchasing used equipment online, as long as I avoid Ebay. Since you're only going to use them for a few months, I'd go that route. I haven't come across any online retailers that are selling new Paradigm equipment...

Greg
Try www.audiogon.com for used speakers, on a different subject....I am upset your wife dropped out of the primaries.....what gives?
Bob,

try www.tsto.com. They frequently have "demo grade quality" paradigm equipment.

Good luck

JP1998,

It's not price fixing. You should more carefully consider the implications and meanings of your words.

You may prefer to purchase on the internet and not like the fact that Paradigm chooses to distribute via a dealer network (like B&W, like McDonalds, like Mercedes Benz, ad infinitum). But that's their business not yours.

Trying to maintain price points and dealer territories to protect the hard-earned integrity and reputation of the product, and to further a well thought-out long range marketing strategy is not the same thing as price fixing. Nor is selling through distributors, or direct to consumers through mail and phone channels, though I assure you that businesses that choose these channels also have rigid pricing models.

Please be sure to let us know when you start your speaker company what you choose as your method of distribution. Dollars to doughnuts, if it were your years of sweat and money on the line, you could think of lots of legitimate business reasons not to sell on the internet.

Nice post PF.

Don't be so logical and fair. Even though AVS is well moderated, it's still the web...

PF, you must be the guy that goes into the new car dealership and pays sticker price. Many companies like Ford are moving in the direction of direct sales to the public over the internet. If Ford can improve its bottomline by cutting out the local dealership, believe me they will. Just look what Dell and Gateway have done to the computer industry. How many people still go to Compusa or Sears to buy a new computer.
