Looking to get a nice 42" Plasma for bedroom, and I know these are discontinued... but is there a place with old stock to find these?

Also, I assume 42ST60 never made it to North America, right? and it was only EU product? Which sucks as that would have been awesome...

Now, IF there's no chance to find one of these old ones, what's a comparable 42-43" Smart TV for bedroom?

There is no comparable TV in the sub-50" size regardless of price. The 42" ST60 was never offered in NA.

The 43" Samsung, although being only 768p, actually looks pretty good. The Panasonic 42PX60 however looks not so good,

Thanks, I'd call around to see what I can find. Futureshop, Best Buy got none, so have to see what else is available.

You will probably not get any. I missed very last S60 from many of my local Bestbuys in Toronto and that was November.

Sorry to disappoint, but I've been looking for a 42S60 for the last 4 months, with no success, whatsoever. Ads on Cragslist, everything. I've contemplated taking a trip to Europe to get a 42" ST or GT, but seems like too much effort, lol.

Maybe, if you're the luckiest man to walk the earth, you'll find one from here:

http://www.searsoutlet.com/42-Class-1080p-600Hz-Plasma-Smart-HDTV-TC-P42S60/d/product_details.jsp?stxt=panasonic%20s60&md=srh_md&pn=1&ps=24&pid=112871&cid=892&mode=buyUsedOnly&itemSelectionType=all

They're from Sears Outlet, so they're used or floor models, but I doubt you'll have that much success. Good luck with the worst known customer service in the Milky Way Galaxy.

I'm looking for a 50", you can find a new one on Ebay for a highly inflated price:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-Smart-Viera-TC-P50S60-50-1080p-HD-Plasma-Internet-TV-TCP50S60-NEW-/331126844976?pt=Televisions&hash=item4d18b2ae30

Alternatively, you can get a Best Buy Open Box (what I'm leaning towards):

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcat16010&type=page&skuId=8130126&ld=40.708526611328125&lg=-74.00324249267578&rd=200&dt=ob

For a S60 substitute, there really aren't any. However, Samsung's plasma F5500 comes somewhat close, but they don't come in 42".

Maybe, maybe, MAYBE you'll find the new 2014 Vizio M-series (starts at 39", I think) or P-series (starts at 50") adequate, but plasma is, IMO, the way to go.

I get how it feels to want a high-quality SMALL TV, as opposed to having to get a jumbo-sized, living room 65 incher. Good luck in your search.

Yea, that's the price, the problem is that all of the ones left are floor models- thus many hours of functioning..., or so I have been told. The one I found still had the wrapping around the screen. aka. not used.

Given that this is arguably the best 42 inch tv that has ever been offered in Canada (europe had the higher end series) and the last of the plasmas, I am really stocked.

Good for you! I will pick one up too... it's such a sad day, it really makes me pissed, basically marketing, flashy features are winning over quality and specially picture quality. I was at a few showrooms and literally was about to PUKE all over the new LED, OLED, 4K and curve picture qualities, they're SO CRAP, have incredible shiny and reflective screen and are just terrible all around and some were priced $7K! Are you kidding me???

I am really inclined to just go find one of the latest Panasonic 55-60" and buy and keep one for future. My Elite Plasma is still working great, but I am afraid in 1-2yrs, if it dies, WHAT DO TO THEN?
