My screen design calls for at least a 60" wide bolt of blackout cloth. The blackout at Joanns and other stores is usually about 55" wide. Where can I find some that is actually 60"? I'm leaving in about 90 minutes to go to work and I wanted to get some while I was out. Anyone have a fast answer? Otherwise I will have to resort to sewing 2 pieces together. :(

The only pieces I found were 54" wide :(

After some heavy pulling, streching and stapling I managed to get it to 56" in my frame.

I guess that was not the answer you were looking for.

u should use duck cloth over blackout cloth anyway.... it's avail @ joann's in 60 in for $6.99/yd

duck cloth has amazing properties on wood frames.

i would think sewing anything together would be a disaster for a screen.

I suggest artist's canvas. They should have 60 and 72" widths but avoid the pre-primed as it may crackle when you stretch it.

But isn't duck cloth/canvas rough and bumpy? How is this good for a projection screen, wont you get moire effects? The backside of the blackout cloth is extremely smooth.

OIC :)

It's a bit rough as is but you must gesso/prime it after stretching on a frame. Raw canvas/blackout is a piss-poor performer.
