I am looking for a nice unit I can frame into my wall. Can anyone give me some ideas where I might be able to find one?

I just got a pair of rack rails and mounted them in a framed-out opening that was about 19 1/8" wide. Much cheaper than buying a full enclosure (like the MA Slim-5) and sliding it in.

I think you just solved my problem. I am also installing my cabinet under a set of stairs like you did. I was wondering if I could use some pieces of a slim rack system and make it work. I was concerned it might need support in the rear, but it looks like you don't need it. Should I forsee any problems with that type of set up?

Will you have access to the area behind the gear and lighting in case you need to trouble shoot, hook up new gear ? just a couple of thoughts....

What about the door to 'hide' the components? If one does not want the rack systems black metal or prefferated door...what does one do? I know I can't 'make' a door out of cherry myself.

I have enough space to get in behind the gear. I roughed in a door on the side about 30" wide. It will be tight in there, but I will have light and I hope I don't have to spend too much time back there.
