I have Ir emitters on all my components from the HTPC. I did have a Toshiba 61 in 4x3 set which was black, of course. I had ran a small black wire with the ir emitter from the IR sender right under the screen (between the screen and speaker grill). That looked ok and you had to look to see the wire. I now have replaced the Toshiba with a Samsung 617w set. It, of course, is silver and does not have a removeable speaker grill. The black wire would "stand out". Any suggestions? Also, where is the IR receiver on the set?

You can buy a small ir signal booster and not have to have the emitter sit directly on the equipment. Xantech sells a 792-10 IR booster. You can buy an IR emitter (that will handle the higher power) from radio shack for a buck or so and wire it to the Xantech. Then you can hide the IR emitter and it should work as long as it is in line of sight (under a table or aginst a wall). If all of your equipent is stacked, you could do away with all of your small emitters/
