I want new releases too. We just don't know what New Line's launch plans are yet.
New Line's catalogue is comparatively small, so they may want to avoid what they did with SD-DVD, releasing a lot at the beginning and then not having a lot of new product to follow up in ensuing months. Just a guess, though.
The break thru way they have processed the audio using DTS-ES always sounds fantastic on dvd and I am really curious to see what they do with HD-DVD.

Are they scheming on 8 channel DD+ and DTS-HD mixes? Brant?

New Line has about 280 films ( I just looked it up ) in their catalog, they could put something out, and since they are part of Warner Brothes, I would think sooner then later.
Blade Movies, Austin Powers, LOTR, Rush Hour 1/2, and the list can go on and on
Are there any rumors for LOTR this year?
Blade 1 and Rush Hour 1 have already been officially announced to be coming to HD-DVD - however, their released date is TBA.

I've always liked part 2 the best for some reason. But anyway, these three films were made for HD DVD....
I was having my coffee at Barnes and Noble this morning, and happened to scan through S &V's special on HD-DVD/BD. It seemed to me the movies for each format vastly favored HD-DVD including many from New Line (LOTR; the vaunted killer app).

In my opinion, New Line has always had the best standard DVD transfers. I'm hoping the same holds true on HD DVD.
I remember Austin Powers looks fantastic in HD. I think it was a D5-HD source I saw that on, I forget. It was ages ago. Most noticeable were the colourful costumes.

I doubt that such a large title like LOTR will be available so fast, as there is so little market penetration of HD DVD players.
Perhaps your right, Tony. Funny how this logic goes against the game industry's paradigm. In their case getting at least one killer app out a launch is considered very important; waiting for consoles to penetrate the market before releasing your big guns makes little sense in that world. Maybe our industry should learn something here.

Nice deduction... and I would agree with you 100%, MAKE people WANT what drives the medium, not SHOW the driver and wait for the media for something to blow their minds!
