If you look at the letter 'R', it could be a big headed guy taking a leek, no? Now that would make a nice doll!!!!!

I hear that creative types can alter the TiVo doll to make it larger, but the replay doll cannot be altered.

Does it have a bobbing head or a hula skirt?

Even though we are no longer in the black out period, I can't disclose that kind of information.

There ought to be a series of, umm, whatevers, for all the ReplayXXXX people, and perhaps one for Julie, if Spencer can talk her in to it.

how about @myreplayTV.com emails for registered users? [email protected]? [email protected]?

Perhaps even a way to allow (with the users permission for privacy reasons) others to use a users own themes or something like that? Or is that too weird?

I see it as being an interesting addition to the feature pool of the cumulative Replay community. You know, my favorite actors, my favorite directors, my favorite subjects, my favorite sports. I realize we could enter that stuff on our own, but maybe looking at someone elses ideas (how often would you set up an Alfred Hitchcock zone own your own?) might be fun. It might be very helpful for people with kids...the pokemon theme, the teletubbies theme, the XYZ theme that your kids seem to love...

I think with some cafeful considersation, this could be developed in a way that still ensures the users privacy, and obviously, it should be an opt-in type of thing.

I like it, and it's actually alot easier to set up than you might think, just go to http://www.everyone.net/ and see.

If my wife is any indication, the hula skirt will certainly be expandable.

(oh, if there's ANY chance she'll EVER see this post, I'm a dead man)

Er, Michael, don't you mean your ex-wife? Open that certified letter that just arrived from the lawyers office and you'll see what I mean! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

They are though, aren't they?

Just kidding, loriemedley. I think the real reason is probably because a majority of the purchasers of PVRs are probably male. While I am sure many women buy and enjoy PVRs, in general I would probably say more men purchase/enjoy PVRs. Just look at the advertising that Replay and Tivo have out right now. Boxing, Cops, Football...those are all topics in the commercials and are all topics that are typically enjoyed more by men.

While it may be wrong to think in stereotypes like that, that is what marketing and advertising firms do every day. Advertising is an industry that is built around stereotypes. Of course they use fancy statistics to back up their claims, but all they still are stereotypes.

So I am sure it is not intended to illustrate women as being to uninterested or stupid to use PVRs, but rather I am sure the data shows that more men purchase than women.

Yep, for the most part, I'll admit we treat this forum like a big men's club... and I apologize for myself and everyone like me.

Can you forgive us? We really don't get many posts from women. And I wish that was different. Make it different, starting tomorrow... okay?
