Don't this movie come out tomorrow? I want to see some reviews before purchasing it...didn't anyone get it early?

MIne was shipped from DVDEmpire on Friday, didn't get it today because of the holiday. Haven't seen anyone snag it early at BB.

If the trailer on the PS3 Store is any indication (and these are also compressed) then it should look nice. Some of the dark scenes in the trailer looked VERY grainy (and as if they were taken out of a completely different movie) but overall the rest looked quite good. This is one of the movies that first got me interested in Blu Ray so I'm finally glad to see it come out.


Best Buy told me their system shows they received them on the 2nd of the month and was more than willing to sell them except told me they werent able to find them in the back. They did sell me the rest of tomorrow's releases though.

There is no trailer of Resident Evil in the PS store....unless you mean in another region other then North America.

The trailer has been up on either the Japanese/Chinese PS3 store I forget which one it is, it does look very nice. I picked the disc up a few days ago but have held off for reviews on it though.

Its a pretty solid looking title. I think it can look a little soft sometimes due to the dark lighting and amount of fog & smoke in some scenes but over all I would say it's a winner. The audio on the other hand is in a league by itself. This is going to be my new demo piece for BD sound. The church scene in particular will have you looking all around the room as the surround effects really are quite stunning and clear. The LFE is nothing to sneeze at either. The picture frames on my glass table were vibrating so bad I had to lay them on the floor. This one is gonna be remembered for the sound for sure. The audio kicks major ASS!!

I agree. REA is just down right amazing. I picked it up last Tues, and loved it. Now, if we could only get the first freaking movie out.

It's the Japanese PS3 store. I downloaded it along with the trailers for Casino Royale and Open Season, all of which look fantastic.

Yeah!! That and the first Underworld. It's weird how all the studios are putting out the sequels first and leaving the originals out. Underworld is a fave and I hope they do it up right with the extended cut on a BD-50 with PCM!!

It's already been answered, but I was referring to the JPN/HK PS3 Store's trailer

I'm really hoping both the first Resident Evil and Underworld find home on Blu Ray soon. I thought both were scheduled as some of the first releases on the format?

I saw a demo clip for REA from I believe it was my Underworld Evolution copy where there was one scene with some creature on a roof and as he was standing there, the roof looked as if it were dancing from all the noise. I think it was the single most noisy effect I have ever seen. This was odd because the rest of the clip looked amazing. Especially the close up of the eye at the begining. Very resolved. I'll definetely pick up this movie.

^ Sounds like the same clip from the PS Store then. That was actually the exact scene that I was referring to. I don't have a clue why they added it in to the trailer.. I don't even remember that part of the movie

The trailer is on the Memento disk. I thought it looked rather good.

I'm trying not to rank titles myself unless I've sat through them the whole way through, but I watched the first few minutes last night and the closeups looked fantastic, but everything else was soft and in some cases, really noisy (the alarm clock shot for instance).

I ordered this one through Amazon, but they appear to be sold out even though today is the first real day of official release. You guys are fast in buying up all the new releases.
