Panasonic 42' plasma 42px60u. 1024 x 768, 10000:1 $1249 shipped.

or

Samsung 40' LCD LN-S4041 1366 x 768 3000:1 $1199 shipped.

or

Samsung 40' LCD LN-S4041 1366 x 786 4000:1 $1286 shipped.

I'm stuck and i was hoping that i can get some input from you guys. Pros and Cons would be great....

this is a newbie question but is there a big difference between the 1024x768 and the 1366x768. as well the the different contrast ratio?

thanks again...

I would go with the LCD because that's what I did, lol. I actually went with the 4092d model vs. the Plasma you mentioned.

Also you listed the LNS4041 twice with a different contrast ratio. I assume that was supposed to be the LNS4051. If so out of those three choices that's the one I would go with.

In the end though no one can make the decision for you. It depends on what factors you are looking for in your TV.

I have both a Panasonic 42px60 AND a Samsung LN-S4095D. Both are great sets; I use the LCD in a brightly lit room & use the plasma in a room with more subdued lighting. The LCD has a brighter picture than the plasma. The plasma is 768x1024 whereas the 4095D LCD is 1080x1920. Honestly, I can't tell a huge difference in HD clarity between the two. My best input is OTA HD; maybe I could tell the difference with a Blu-Ray hooked to them. I am waiting for a DVD-HD/Blu-ray hybrid before I make the plunge into HD DVD.
