Which Graphics Card for HTPC?

I am just about to embark on building a HTPC for my SonyHS50. Basically I have settled on the following configuration:
AMD3500+ 939
Gigabyte Nforce4 M/B
1Gb RAM
I am going to use the a 30ft VGA cable connection to begin with (until the Sony DVI issues are sorted).
My conundrum is whether to use the GeForce 6600GT chipset or the Radeon X700. I am going to do very little gaming - mostly HT (playing around with ZP, FFDshow, AC3Filter and WMVHD). The 6600GT seems to be having lots of issues whereas I have not found much information on the Radeon X700.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seems the best right now is the 6600GT ,what end did you come too?
I wish I could swing a second 6600GT for my HTPC, but I just got one for my gaming rig a couple weeks ago.
