I am purchasing (2) RC-10s for my fronts and an RC-mini for my center channel, but I don't have room for RC-10s in the back of the room. Do I need to pony up and by some from the same series ie the RC series, or will the EAS or Veritas series match fine?

I have the money for the rc-6c if I should go that way.

Are these athena's good speakers? I am already spending over 1k on the front/center and receiver I want a setup I will be thoroughly happy with.

if you don't want to sacrifice quality, I were you I would jump on the discount pricing on the Veritas in-wall speakers. The Veritas are Energy's flagship lineup, and they are being blown out at crazy prices relative to msrp. Other posters in the Energy owner's thread have gotten these, as they are cheaper than the RC's (despite being better!), and they have reported that the speakers blend well with the RC's in front.

They will be MUCH better than the Athenas! Not that the Athenas are bad... but if you have the budget room, the Veritas speakers are like 4 steps up the ladder in quality.

For example:

i'm looking to get surrounds to complete my setup that has the same fronts as awitty, do you think that the in wall application would work for my room?

see diagram and shot taken from just above the recliner seating position.

Thanks,

Mark

I used 3/8" threaded rod (1 foot length) some fender washers and nuts because I could get behind the wall. On the back side I mounted a 2x4 between the studs and brought the rod thru the center of the 2x4.

I pulled the speaker flush to the drywall using the nut/washer on the other side of the wall. I'll try and post a picture.

This thread gave me the idea: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?p=15844513

post a picture of your room, but I can tell you that the 1.0CM's sound great. I use them in my setup and don't regret it at all!
