If I were looking for $150 speakers I would be looking for used or these: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS4.../dp/B0045US6DE or NHT Absolute Zero or their Two bookshelf.

The Pioneer B41 is good. Now, for $299 - Go to www.vanns.com

and look at the Energy RC10 bookshelf speaker. A lot of people

say good things about them. The price is a discontinued price,

and is $300 off regular price.

i wish craigsub would comment on this topic because i think he has alot to do with these speakers
I think there is a specific thread for his speakers - craigsub designed the waf's.

I don't have direct experience with any of the speakers you are considering but Danny Ritchey of GR Research uses BG Neo PDR tweeters that look a lot like the one in the BG Z-1 (maybe not the very same but one OEM'd to his specs) in many of his DIY kits. For what is worth those GR kits are very highly regarded at Audio Circle.

I don't have a link handy but I'm pretty sure that craigsub's WAF-1 speakers were designed by Danny Ritchey.

Edit: Found this at audio circle (Tweak City Audio used to mention Danny on the WAF-1's page but since the change to Chase Home Theater that information is no longer there)

Sorry..I can't since I haven't heard them. But like Ronaldo I'd go for the BG Z-1 if I were in your shoes.
