Which is the better investment?

Due to my budget, I am faced with the choice of the following for my HT to go with my upcoming 42" Panny plasma and Panny DVD player. Which would be the better investment?


Option 1: Large size: Onkyo S760 HTiB.


Option 2: Small size: Panasonic SA-XR45 and Yamaha NS-P436 6.1 speaker set.


Option 2 is over 50% smaller all around, but how will it sound? The sound of the Onkyo seems just acceptable to me.


I've looked at more expensive options, but I ruled them all out. Thanks!
