hi,

Which mid range 1080p cam has the best image stabilization?
Any recommended for under $500 with 20x+ zoom?
No, tripod can't be used, just handheld
the low light isn't important.

any links for IS test results would be great

tnx

I find the Panasonic HC-V750 the best. It has "hybrid" OIS which is a mix of mechanical and electronic stabilisation. I find it perfect for handheld videoing. IMO it is better than the Sony system.
Zoom is 20x optical going to 50x Intelligent ( no picture degradation) and 1500x top!!

HC-V770 has been recently released so worth checking out.
thanks for the reply
looks like V770 adds only HDR, which sounds cool.
however, can HDR work in 1080/60p mode?
I need 60p only. I don't need 24p at all.

So far I don't see much price discount for V750 vs new V770 as I hoped

Sonys BOSS is superior hybrid OIS.

which sony model under $500 has the BOSS system?

if you got steady hands, even the panasonic v250 with 50x can be steady

no, my hands are not steady as I stop to start filming after ether run or ski or bicycle or etc activity, so my HR is way above 120

no, so far I don't see any sony cams with boss under $500. there are in $800+ range only
