Hi all.

I have big trouble getting my HTPC to run [email protected], it keeps

saying that I have to restart windows. What could cause this? I can

run [email protected] with no problems at all.

Then I wondered, since our hardware doesn't talk to the PJ, what

monitor inf should I use?

An, by the way, how do I keep my comp from seeing plug and play

monitors? It's just supposed to run the image through.

Thanks very much.

Create a custom monitor in powerstrip. I am at work so I am doing this from memory and mine is OLD.

Right click on the PS icon on the taskbar.

Select options....monitor.

Go to the pull down and select write a custom inf.

The items that you will have to change will appear in blue in the boxes above.

In the boxes put:

Manufacture: Barco

Model: BG 808

Resolution: 1600X1200

Vertical Scan Rate: 155

Horizontal Scan Rate: 69 (105)

Note: There are two different H scan rates on projectorspecs.com. for a BG800. I chose the lower of the two. You need to enter the specific ones for your projector.

Save the file by clicking on the disk icon. Note the name of the file and where it puts it. Probably in "My Documents".

Now this is where I had fun.

Copy the "monitor.inf" file from the "windows(depending on flavor)\\inf" directory somewhere that you can find it (just a safety precaution). Copy the inf file that you just created in PS to the above directory. Change the name to "monitor.inf. Open hardware manager. Select monitor, properties, update driver. Do not search for a driver ask to display compatible hardware. You will find Barco on the list. Select it, install it, and reboot. Your problem should be solved.

Thanks,
