Hey guys.

New to the site. I also have very little idea with audio and could use some help.

Trying to get 5.1 sound with PC games. At the moment I've got an old Kenwood Receiver that came with speakers and a sub. It has no HDMI ports on it so I can't connect it right to the PC unless I use optical, but optical doesn't do 5.1 unless my PC motherboard has DTS connect, which it doesn't. Works fine with the PS4/Ps3 though.

So I'm looking for a receiver that I can use with my old kenwood speakers and hook up to my PC via HDMI. My speakers are 120w and 8 ohm. Here are the two I'm looking at at the moment. What one do you guys think I should go for and why?

Onkyo TX-SR333

or

Denon AVR X500

Wouldn't let me post links because I'm new. Sorry.

Thanks a lot.

1st .Onkyo TX-SR333.
2nd. Yamaha
Newer technology. Bluetooth. HDMI 2.0 .

Onkyo always known for budget pack with new technology, While other 2 have higher per Channel out

Thanks for the reply. I've heard some bad things about the Onkyo's HDMI boards, so I'm not sure about them.
