Which one is better at Home Theater?

no, i'm going to buy the least one mentioned because it will mean that their owners are enjoying their products rather than trying to manipulate others into joining their failed adventure. DUH

The x-statiks are supposedly due out June, though I wouldn't necessarily hold your breath on that one.

Another question: is there anyway to wallmount the 340se fronts? I think it would look very neat if I could.

I think a front soundstage of 3 340SEs will produce higher SQ than the x series option you've outlined. Doesn't mean you will prefer it, and it will cost more. I don't think you want to wall mount the 340s; x-cs (sealed) might be a better option if you really want to mount or place against the wall. If you are patient both companies are launching new products that may up the ante.

The reason I asked is because I went thru all of your posts and you already asked for a comparision between the two speaker companies in two other threads you started.

If you like your Home Theater *loud*, I felt the 340SEs were a bit strained at near reference levels. The more laid back tonality of the x-series might be a bit friendlier on the ears, though they are a bit less sensitive, so there's that to consider, as well... depends what you intend on driving them with, I guess.

I hope to drive them with either the onkyo 605 or HK avr 247. Which one would you think produces better sound?

The HK247 is supposed to have excellent sound quality, as is HK's reputation. The 605 hasn't been released yet, but it seems unlikely that a lower-end Onkyo would suddenly leapfrog HK in sound quality.

Neither should drive the 340s to the levels where I'd be worried about the straining.

I thought you already posted on what speakers u wanted? didn't u save your thread to bookmark toolbar? Or did u change your mind again?
