Just curious what the experts have to say about the following:

Given the same tube wear, let's say light ,which models have a better picture:

Marquee 8000

Ampro 3600

Nec 9200.

These are some of my options.

thanks

Marquee 8000, its 25,000:1 contrast compared to the Nec PG-9200 with 15,000:1, same lumen output. Also, Marquees' are easier to set up.

Specs like those contrast ones are pretty irrelevant....

Marquee - Best resolution, easiest setup, most reliable reputation

NEC - best colors, tougher setup, still highly regarded

Ampro - Resolution and setup comparable to marquee, not as reliabe, should be cheaper though so maybe a good bang for the $$

Be careful with availability of spare parts on the Ampro though. Some of the best sources have lots of multiple units. So get a spare. You'll eventually need something and the Ampro traffic for troubleshooting and parts is MUCH less than the Marquee and NECs.

Do a search for Ampro problems. How many people jumped in and offered a fix?

I'm constantly amazed with the valuable responsiveness from electrohomes, sony, barco, and nec queries. Try to quantify that in a spec spreadsheet.

Consider the sony 1252/1272 and the barcos too.

I own an Ampro 3600 and have seen the Marquee 8000. They are both nice machines, and I think you could be happy with either. I haven't seen the NEC.
