I have these projectors in my area that are low budget. I would just be watching DVD's and the occasional Superbowl or NHL HD game. Does any of these blow each other away? The prices seem reasonable and I can't find a Sanyo Z2 local.


Infocus Refurbish X1 original - $699

Epson S1+ - $899

BenQ PB6100 - $799

I choose the benq myself - but I am driving the projector with an HTPC and bypassing the faroudja chip on the X1. The Benq has a faster color wheel for less rainbow effect (although I never see rainbows with any projector personally) and is a bit quieter. That being sad - if the refurb X1 has a new bulb that is a pretty good deal at $700.


So my answer is - if you think you might be viewing standard definition television once in a while go for the X1. If not the Benq is a sweet unit and I have been very satisfied with mine.
