Sorry for the newby question, but getting more confused more i read forums.


I decided to upgrade my aging HTIB, to an onkyo, but unsure which one.


My requirements is a HTPC & PS3. I have an ATI 4850 GCard, but may use sound over hdmi or sdif


Can not decide to got for a onkyo 606 @ £250 or 607 @ £500 or even an 806 @ £500.


I only require 5.1, and plaining to buy KEF speekers 3005 or 2005.

I have the 606 and am very happy with it, but were I buying today I would get the 607 for Audyssey Dynamic Volume feature to keep the commercials under control.

Does Dynamic Volume affect the dynamic range of the sound?

For 1/2 the price, I would definitely go with the 606. The 607 has a few more features and an extra HDMI input, but not twice as much money worth.

Billy Mays may be dead - but his commercials march on! Never heard one of his commercials that weren't turned up to the max.

Are the current year models of Denon and Onkyo the only AV receivers with ADV? I am in the market for an AV receiver and ADV is a requirement.
