As the Academy Awards draw near, the question of which nominated movies will look and sound the best in a home theater inevitably arises among AVS members. In the case of cinematography, many directors are shooting with 4K digital cameras, while others are sticking with film, which is then scanned to digital for post-production and distribution. Either way, cinematography greatly impacts the home-theater experience.

Which Oscar nominee for Best Cinematography do you think is the most home-theater worthy?

This is probably the most lopsided category in terms of the nominees, it sets up Gravity for a multi-Oscar sweep. The only other movie that I saw from this list was Prisoners, which I enjoyed more than gravity. However there's no way I'd choose it over Gravity for cinematography. In fact, I'm looking forward to watching Gravity of 3D Blu-ray tonight.
