Lenny, sorry to respond so late. I must have missed this last month.
I have the 34PW9818. I'd suggest you be sure and get a PixelPlus model (like the 9818). I was finally able to get an HD signal last night (PBS Demo Loop). It looked awesome. For comparison, I run component to the HD input, and S-video to an analog input on my TV. Using PP, I literally could not tell a difference from further than 3 feet away (I can see PP artifacts closer than 3 feet). This makes me very happy, as it relates to my ability to record HD shows and see them at *almost* HD quality on playback. I haven't actually recorded anything to test this yet, but the first test looked promising!

The upcoming 9819 has DVI.
Many of us got our 9818s from Harton Innovations. Refurb for $1550 delivered (full Philips warranty included). Check out ebay. I believe they have a new website going up soon at electronicsnation.com (but I'm not sure about that). On ebay you would deal with Jason. They are great to work with.
