2500 is the sweet spot where joe average lives.

anyone who is rich can get a great setup....

but for most people a htpc and WHICH unit

matched with a diy screen give the ultimate bang for the buck?!?

which unit, which dealer, and which screen are the magic combo?

Heh, you thought it would be that easy? No my friend, the forum beckons, just start reading. Well, of course you could actually go out and look at projectors and decide for yourself, if the dealer has the projectors properly set up and calibrated (1% chance). When buying projectors, there aren't many alternatives to getting up to speed on AVS forum.

OK, to save you some work, I'd say the consensus around here is that panasonic is best bang for the buck in the under $2500 and under price range. Check out discussions on the 75U and AE100.

of course, moneywise the AE100 at $1400.

is the LT150z twice as good at $2800? No

is the Sony 11ht four times as good at $5600? No

is the JVC G15 6 times as good at ~$9k.

The real question is, how much more are you willing to pay to get that much closer to perfection?
