Finally decided on the Pioneer 150fd television, now need your recommendations, PLEASE, on which receiver to get. I think I have it narrowed to the Yamaha 3800 or Pioneer 94TXH. Any opinions are appreciated......and other A/V's to add to the list of considerations is okay to. Thank you in advance.

I'm getting the same monitor next week. I'm connecting it to an Integra DTR-8.8 receiver (pretty expensive but covers all the bases). You should check it out as well as the 7.8. Also look at the Onkyo TX-SR875 and the 805. I wanted the best scaling technology and the ability to output 1080P from all sources including HDMI, without getting seperates.

If your speakers are pretty efficient maybe you won't need the higher powered more expensive models.

Speaker choice is very subjective and like everything else constrained by budget. You should listen to as many different speakers in your price range as possible as speaker choice is probably your most important decision and bring your own CD's because you know how they sound, that way you can't be fooled.

My speaker choice for the fronts are the Focal Electra 1007 Be's which I find incredibly detailed. They're expensive but I want a high quality system for music as well. I've also ordered the new JL 10" subwoofer that will be available soon.

I have the 94TXH paired with the 150FD. I use the preouts to an Anthem MCA5 channel amp with Paradigm Ref Studio's all around and 2 PW2200 subs.

I also have 2 sat receivers and Panny BD30 hooked up to the 94 all via HDMI and 1 cable to the 150FD.

The 94 switches perfectly for me and the HBR audio on Bluray is awesome, combined with the beautiful pictures from the 150,and I'm in audio/video heaven

I purchased the 92txh with a Pioneer fhd1 other day. I haven't got the panel up and ordered the wall mount today. I can't comment(at home) on the video but i like this 92txh on audio. Where i bought my stuff, the sales man put's in alot of systems in for people. He recommended the 92txh because he thought they worked really well with the fhd1 or Kuro's. Can you go demo both and listen to them? That would probably be best.
I don't have it yet, but am going to lay down the cash today. I am getting the 150FD, the 94TXH, the PS3 for BD and Toshiba A35 for HD-DVD. I have been researching this for a long time and hope it all comes out great, but expect it will as all the components have gotten good feedback. The speakers (which are sitting in the basement at the moment) are from Aperion (633 7.1).

Hope it helps - Good luck!
