Kind of starting over here. It seems like there are tons of different connectors, cables, specs, etc for audio and video equipment, so maybe someone can help me make sense of all this so I can figure out what to buy.
First, I have never had a projector, so I want to start with something economical for my first projector. I was considering a 4805, but now I see there is the IN72. Let's limit the discussion to these two projectors, or at the most, projectors within this price range, maximum of $1200.
So the question is, what receiver would be a good match for any of these projectors? I am definitely seeking a $700 or less roughly 7.1 system, THX or not receiver. I am asking this question based on connectivity. Like I said, it seems like there are dozens of different ways to connect components. I have owned HK and Pioneer, but I really preferred the sound of the Pioneer for home theater compared to the HK. So, let's say we have a $2000 budget to match up a projector and receiver. What are the options?
A few details, room is 12 x 22 x 8, no windows, light controlled, carpeting, drywall. Video inputs would be about 50% DVD, 50% digital cable with multiple HDTV channels.
