Hello! I am running an Nvidia GeForce 9500 in my HTPC. I am connected to my receiver with an HDMI cable, and then from my receiver to my Visio HDTV with an HDMI cable.

I was wondering which resolution heading I use in the Nvidia control panel for my HDTV?? There is "HD, SD" which has the resolution I need (1080p, 1920x1080/50hz) and then below is "PC" which lists my "native" resolution. (1920x1080/60hz).

Which one of these do I use?

Why do you need 50Hz output If your TV has a native refresh rate of 60Hz?

I don't. That 50 Hz refresh rate was the only one available under the "HD, SD" heading in the Nvidia control panel for the 1920x1080 resolution.

Under PC, it's correct...1920x1080/60hz. I guess I will leave it there under the PC heading.

Your PC may not be recieving appropriate EDID information because it is going through your reciever.

[email protected] for a 1080P set and [email protected] for a 1080i set...you got it right.

I am not aware of any Vizio 1080i TV models since Vizio had not offerece any CRT models that I am aware of that can scan at 1080i.

If you mean by a 1080i model a fixed pixel digital technology 720p or 1080p HDTV that will only accept 480i,480p, 720p, or 1080i/60 and not accept 1080p/60 or 1080p/24 then there are many models that meet this spec.

1920x1080p/30 Hz is not the same as 1080i/60.
