Setup is in my master bedroom. 50/50 music and netflix/tv watching. Rest of the setup= 2 triad in ceiling mini lcrs, powered by an emotiva flex fusion. The sub must go under our bed(wife). There is about 8 inches of room under there. Currently i'm considering the Dayton Sub-1000L and the Earthquake CP8 couch potato.(amazon links below) The dayton is less than half the price and has a 10" woofer but only lists FR @ 32-140hz. The CP8 has a more powerful amp and has a listed FR of 20-180hz. It seems like the CP8 will have better quality and the Dayton more output, but I have no experience with either. Which of these subs is the better choice?

Earthquake CP8
- 150W (continuous) amp
- 8" driver
- 20-180Hz +/-?dB (-6? -10?)

Dayton SUB-1000L
- 100W (continuous? dynamic?) amp
- 10" driver
- 32-140Hz +/-?dB

Not sure that I'd pay double the cost of the SUB-1000L for the CP8, but it looks like it might be the better overall sub.

Too bad you can't fit a nice little SVS SB-1000 in a corner somewhere... :)

Can you DIY?

What is your max budget?

Music/Movies/TV? All of the above?
I dont have any experience doing DIY and probably dont have the time.(working full time, 2 young kids, etc)

Budget - I'd like to stay close to $300 but can stretch to $500(maybe a bit more) if its really a lot better.

All of the above.

I'm not looking for something crazy, just need to add some decent sounding bass to the LR speakers(which are designed to be used with a sub).

Trust me, I've tried. Wife is not having a sub that can be seen at all.

So I figured out I actually have about 12" of clearance under the bed. The other measurement is just for the frame. Any decent subs I can maybe lay on their side that will fit under 12"?
