Could the Sony experts please give me a recommendation? I'm considering the following Sony LED/LCD TV's.

XBR-52HX909

XBR-52LX900

KDL-55NX810

KDL-55HX800

For some reason I've decided against the Samsung's. The only other model I'm considering is the LG Electronics INFINIA 55LX9500.

I may be splitting hairs with the Sony's, but the differences aren't all that obvious, yet there is a price point difference.

Thanks for all the observations and remarks.

hx909: top of the line, Full Backlit LED with local dimming.

LX900: Edge led with 3D emetters built in (all other models requires you to purchase the 3e emetter seperately).

NX810: dynamic Edge led with Monolith design (big front glass). Builtin WIFI.

Hx800: same as Nx810 but without the monolith deisgn. Less reflective screen.

That's pretty much the big differences betwen both.

You need to read the various reviews on the internet of each set, then go look at them yourself. For example CNET was not very impressed with the HX909

Yea when I seen the tv at Frys the other day, I wasn't very impressed either.

I totally agree I need to go look at these and compare them, but as you all know it's not always possible. Further...I live in NJ and it seems silly not to try to save the sales tax premium by buying over the internet. The only local source I have for viewing and comparisons is... no surprise... Bestbuy. However, they make it difficult to make comparisons because you have no idea what adjustments they've made to the sets. So... like everyone else... I'm left with the internet to try to make a decision.

It depends on how discerning you are...In critical viewing side by side the 909 will edge out the others you listed but the others do a really nice job also...take the extra 3" and the best deal going on the HX or NX. Or spring for the 60" NX810
