please

currently have an onboard Realtek chipset (on a Gigabyte 9400 based board)

but you can only fix the SPDIF sample rate output, fine for AC3/DTS which is uneffected but a pain for CD playback, trailers playback etc

all I'm looking for is say if its 2 channel 44khz back - 2 channel 44 khz is output

if its 2 channel 48khz - 48khz is output etc etc

at the momentI can only fix it at one specific sample rate

The Realtek audio chip supports 16/20/24-bit 32k/44.1k/48k/88.2k/96k/192kHz stereo LPCM over S/PDIF. You just have to bypass Windows Audio Engine that always resamples audio streams to whatever bit depth/sample rate you choose. Use a DS player+ReClock, foobar2000 or MC13 in WASAPI exclusive mode.

If your OS is XP use foobar (or winamp) and kernel streaming plugin. You could also check and install ASIO4All.

Yup, if your OS is XP, use Kernel Streaming. (WASAPI exclusive mode is for Vista/Win7.) The filter/players I mentioned support KS too.
