Curious poll. For just DVD storage and playback, I can't imagine any of these techniques being a source of studdering or hangups. I've used all except Raid and I've never had any issues. Only my NAS gives me a little problem with data rate because the performance is so poor and/or spotty.
I was tempted to ask which method is the favorite but in all honesty I just want to avoid any that might have problems. I personally haven't had any problems with IDE or Firewire. The reason for the post was that I have recently seen external cases using USB 2 much cheaper (less than $40) than Firewire drives. I know that the way the two transfer data is different and just wanted to see if others were using USB 2 to store Video (jukebox). At the same time I added SCSI, SATA and Raid just to make the poll complete.
Bad phraseology on my part. Unfortunately I can't edit the Poll. I think everyone understood the intent of the question. As I mentioned earlier, my biggest question was with regard to USB 2 and so far no one seems to think that has a problem. With the recent drop in Hard Drive prices I have been able to pick up 200 and 250GB drives for less than $60 after rebates and they will be going in external cases.
