Hi all.. I'm new to this forum and am getting a klipsch system to replace my sony ht in a box. Here in Canada our main klipsch dealers are London Drugs and Future shop. I got my system planned out except for the sub. I've listened to a few klipsch subs and velodyne. I may want to add another sub later as well. I can get the RSW-10D for a fairly decent price. The receiver that will be powering the system is an Onkyo 876. Room dimensions are 13'x 15'. I will be using the system for music, gaming, movies. I listen to all kind of music but mostly rap/hiphop... I don't like muffled bass, I like hard hitting clean bass.

So here are the speakers I will be getting..

(2) RF-82

(1) RC-62

(2) RS-52

(2) other surround or bookshelf speakers added in the future.

Thanks

My older brother has an Klipsch RSW-10d with his Klipsch Heresy Mains...it sounds very nice with music and movies...if you can get it for a nice price...go for it...

I have a Klipsch Synergy Sub-12 with my Klipsch KG 5.5 Mains...I think it is nice and prefer mine for movies but prefer his for Music but then I use mine almost exclusively for Movies...(there is some more versatility with the RSW-10d as well...)

Little brother has an Outlaw Audio (Hsu) LFM-1 with his Heresys and it sounds great with both Music and Movies...

I recently bought my Sub-12 during some of the Black Friday (Thanksgiving here in the States) sales and couldn't pass up the price...I had been considering the RSW-10d during the low price for the cherry version ($499 US?) but I found out about it too late...I also considered one of the Outlaw models also during that Black Friday sales event and was all set to buy either the LFM-1 Compact (10 inch) or the LFM-1 EX (12 inch) but couldn't make up my mind until the Sub-12 came up for half price ($249)...Good luck and I hope this helps...

I have a Klipsch RW10d sub and a pair of RS 42s surrounds for sale if you are interested. NEW. I have original boxes for the 42s. I have original receipt and they were purchased from an authorized dealer. They are in immaculate condition. Not a scratch, scuff, blemish, etc.. Nothing. I will split shipping with you. Let me know.

Thanks for all the help.. would $899 CAD be a good deal on the RSW-10D?? Theres also a velodyne 15" DLS-5000R that I could add later when it goes on sale, would that be a good idea?? Or should one SVS SB12 plus be a better way to go, its a small sealed 12" that I can get for $949 CAD plus shipping. The PB12 is $1499. The PB12 might be too big and too boomy. I want something that will give a nice clear tight sounding bass

freshane, hello and welcome to AVS

I have Klipsch RF-7s, RC-7 center, and subs up front.

My subs: I have two SVS 16-46+. (the link in my signature has older pictures)

Old setup: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

The used market is where you should find the best deal for subs (audiogon.com or another).

No matter what sub you end up getting, regardless of money spent, add ~$100 USD and get a BFD 1124p. If you don't want muddy bass, a parametric equalizer of some sort is a must; it is not an option. Seriously, don't buy a sub without an equalizer. The BFD 1124p will be the best cheapest option to correct the issues your sub(s) will have with your room (minus treatments of course).

Room EQ Wizard (great free software if you have a PC)
