Which to choose

I'm sure I could search and dig and figure this out myself, but I'm hoping someone has an easy and quick answer for me off the top of their head.

After extensive research and back and forth between all options I am "set" on a 50" plasma set. Leaning toward the Panasonic TH-50PX600U. I want to be able to use as PC monitor, and would like speakers and HDMI inputs. And with all the love here for Panny plasmas it seems like a safe bet. Don't need much else, like tuner, OTA capabilities, etc. Will use exclusively with a cable box. Are there any better options out there? I think I can get his set for a little under $3k.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would say that is an excellent choice. The Panasonic plasma's are probably our most popular set. You could check out the 50ph9uk but then your losing HDMI and speakers that you would have to purchase seperately. The 50px600u is in my opinion the best value for plasma tv's and you can definetly get this set for under your budget amount.

Before you settle for a Panasonic check out the Pioneers and Samsungs you might change your mind at what provides the best picture
NEC 50X5 is a stellar set IMO.....and you can't go wrong with Panny's or Pio's. :)

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at Panny, Pio and Samsung and they all look great to me. I'd be hard pressed to say which is better. Don't think I've seen NEC though.

I'd love to go with a commercial model for that plain black frame, but I plan to move the plasma out of the theater area in the future and will probably need the built in audio then.
I'm not an expert but have had a Vizio P50HDM for about a year now and still love the TV.

droht, you will probaly never see the NEC at any M&B outlets [EDIT] but check the NEC thread in this forum - nothing but excellent comments.....

Plus the NEC warranty is superior to Panny and Pio (NEC = 1 year glass and 3 year Electronics)
