Hello,
Looking at the "best buy" thread in the META FAQ and elsewhere on the web, it seems that the Toshiba line of dvd-rom drives is particularly appreciated for its quietness, its reliability and its rapidity to get up to speed.
The "best buy" thread in question still mentions the 12x drive (SD-M1412) which almost impossible to find anymore. On the 16x front I've noticed at least three different models: SD-M1502, SD-M1612, SD-M1712. What are the differences between these drives ? Should I target one of those three in particular ? Should I make an effort to find an older SD-M1412 instead ?
Thanks in advance
Vianney
