When you have a DVD player with 2 outputs ( DVI and Component ) :


what is the best choice for one trans coder , DVI to VGA or Component to VGA . A dilemma is the DVI connector will be replace by HDMI or will be disappear in the near future.

Which DVD player is it? Not knowing which one, I would suggest a component to VGA since it would be cheaper than a DVI to vga. Search ebay for a used one. Key digital makes a nice one and audio authority.
