Trying to figure out which TV for my new condo. Viewing distance is going to be around 10ft. From the best I can tell for a 50", 1080p isn't going to be very noticeable so I think I'm gonna just go with the pio5080. I'd have to step up to a 60" for 1080p to really be noticeable, correct?

If 1080p is a consideration for a 50" at 10ft would the panny 50pz800u be a better choice?

Resolution should not make a big difference in terms of overall picture quality. Although some say that they can see SDE (Screen Door Effect) at normal seating position. I believe the 50PZ800U would be a good choice. The 5080HD is a great display, but its availability is limited.

Well I can get a new one at a pretty good price at best buy ~ $800 less than the 800u.

Wow if its $800 cheaper street price from the 800U I would hop all over the 5080HD.
