Which TV is better?

Im new to the site, and not sure if I'm posting in the right spot.

Im getting my first HDTV soon, and have it narrowed down to two, can someone tell me which is better? Im mainly going to be using it for PS3 games, and Blu Ray movies played on my PS3.

My budget is around $700

If you know an even better TV for this price range I definitely would appreciate the advice. I want at least 37"

out of the two listed I would get the LG

Even though the Dynex is 1080P and the LG is only 720P? Is it because the contrast is so much higher on the LG?

Anyone have an answer with a reason why one is better than the other? Or a better TV for about $700?

With your budget I would look strongly at the Panasonic 42PX80 or the Samsung PN42A450 as both are very nice sets and both are plasmas. Dynex is a house brand for Best Buy and I would steer clear of that as typically the processors and the materials are of a lesser grade. Both of the above sets are 720p but in a 42" set it may not be that big of a deal unless you plan on sitting within 6' or less and going to use it for Blu Ray.

If you can budget another $200.00 then you can step up to the Panasonic 42pz80 (plasma) or the Samsung LN40A550 (LCD) and both are 1080p.

Good luck with your choice.

You could also check out some 42" 720p plasmas... the Panasonic PX80U is at Amazon for a very nice price currently.

Pretty good set, and hard to beat in terms of bang-for-buck.
