Samsung PN51D530 or a Samsung LN46D630?

Neither. Look into a Panasonic ST30. The black level will rise on the Samsung plasma, along with shifts in brightness, and either plasma is superior to the LCD. Good luck.

Ok thanks. I have a 59PND7000 and the picture is great but the screen has internal cracks yet the picture has not been affected. I fear eventually it will and it seems like Samsung tells everyone with the same problem that the consumer caused the crack.

what about it's brightness pops?
You can contact Panasonic on any set built before August, and they will fix. Anything built in August already has update.

I Third the ST30
I'd exchange it for another D7000 or get a Panny GT30 which is in the same class as the D7000.
GT30 won't have the calibration controls that the D7000 has.
