I know the Oppo is but is there any otheres, I want to buy one in a store because I want to be able to return it that day if I dont like it or have a problem with it. Im looking at the Sony, Onkyo, and Panasonic and Denon.

None are out of the box, except a few odd Chinese players. You can go to videohelp.com to find out which ones have region-free 'hacks' (usually consisting of a couple of keystrokes on the remote). I think most can be made region-free, except possibly the Sony. Note that some players have much better PAL conversion than others; good reviews of individual machines will mention this. - DR

+Philips, Yamaha, Toshiba.

Its not easy to make the Sony, Panasonic or Pioneer region-free. Even if you do these players have no PAL-to-NTSC conversion.

Oppo has a good return policy, AFAIK...and good customer service.
