Im hopefully going to make my purchase by the end of this year. The Reciever would probably be a Denon. Also how much of a step up would either of those guys be to my current system the Onkyo HT-S870 HTiB? Would it be a considerable amount? Thanks!

is there a specific reason why you are considering polk ? a cheaper alternative would be paradigm titans (amazing bookshelf speaker) and i have the vx-10 velosub which pounds, so i imagine the 12 would be even more amazing. just check out the paradigm titans, you could get 4 of them for the price of 2 of the polks. and yes it whould be a considerable jump from your htib.

I get a really good discount on Polk and Kef but I will look into those ones as well.
