Something I've thought about more than once - For those who like to listen to their music or movies loudly, or who have particularly well-isolated listening/HT rooms...


Is there a product that exists to alert you when the doorbell or phone rings?


I am looking for something like a small light that blinks or turns on when someone is calling or at the door. If something like this doesn't exist, would it be easy to rig up? I'm thinking that now (as I begin my wiring) is a good time to start thinking about it...


Does anyone use something like this?

They sell these. It's usually installed for someone who's deaf, but the local hi-fi store has them installed in their listening rooms for when the phone rings and it works like a charm. I'll poke around and see if I can't find a good example of one...

Don't forget about the fire alarm. Make sure one inside the theater is hardwired to one outside and additional ones along your escape route. Like at the top of a stairs for basement HTs.
