I will be getting the Xbox 360 in December. I too know it does not have an HDMI but there are rumours of a possible componenet to HDMI cable from M$ in the future (if that is even possible). $179 is a lot for the "privelage" of true 1080p when the PS3 will have the HDMI port built in. I'm gonna sit tight for now and see what M$ does in the coming months.

I have been trying to decide between a 50a2000 and a samsung hls5087w. After hearing the 360 will do 1080p, but not with hdmi, I started leading to the samsung was because it accepts 1080p over component and the sony does not. After surfing the net I found an affordable way to transcode component to hdmi, so I thought I would share it here.
