I am a proud owner of a Pioneer Elite Pro1130HD. As we all know Pioneer got out of the TV game, sadly. Since that time I haven't followed new sets except that it seems that Samsung LCDs have become the go-to sets.

Anyway, what I was wondering was who inherited Pioneer's technology? I thought I read somewhere that Panasonic actually bought the rights to the tech for the plasma sets, including the KUROs. However, I just saw that the "Elite" brand name is now being used by Sharp for its new line of LCDs.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

The technology was bought by Panasonic. Pioneer has licensed the Elite brand to long-time partner Sharp for TVs only. There is no technology connected with this. It is strictly brand licensing.
